If you’re moving to another country and have relatives living in the city you’re moving to, my biggest piece of advice is this: if you can afford it, live on your own. Even if you have a good relationship with your family, living together can create unexpected tensions, misunderstandings, and family issues. You can still visit your relatives and spend time with them, but sometimes having a little distance is what helps you maintain healthy family relationships.
